Partial Fire Ban - October 10, 2025
Effective October 10, 2025, at 1:00 p.m., the RM of Mervin No. 499 Council has issued a Partial Fire Ban, with consultation of the Fire Chiefs.
A Partial Fire Ban is declared when conditions present a moderate fire risk. Under a partial fire ban, all open burning, incinerators, and fireworks are prohibited and recreational use of off-road vehicles (ATVs/UTVs) unless operated within the boundaries of designated hamlets for essential transportation purposes only - provided that the operator remains on established roadways, no travel through grassed or vegetated areas, and compliance with all provincial legislation and municipal bylaws.
The following are permitted, provided they are used safely and supervised at all times:
- CSA or UL approved appliances,
- Portable propane fire pits, and
- Campfires in approved fire pits or designated campground fire rings.
