FIRE BAN LIFTED

Effective August 14, 2025 the RM of Mervin Fire Ban is lifted

If you are planning on conducting a controlled burn, please call 306-845-3589 or apply online at Burn Permit

When authorization to burn is received, the property owner is responsible for reporting a controlled burn to 1-866-404-4911, which is monitored 24/7 - every day of the year, to inform them of the date(s) and time period of the burn, to avoid dispatching firefighters unnecessarily.

If you do not give proper notification, and the fire department attends your fire, you will be invoiced accordingly. Please ensure that you follow the correct procedures so that you don’t encounter problems in the future.

The Turtleford and District Fire Association, and the St. Walburg and District Fire Association fees as of January 1, 2025 are as follows:

  • The automatic charge is $1107.67 an hour
  • To a maximum total charge of $5,000 for any one fire, per property, per call
  • This maximum only applies to ratepayers of the R.M. of Mervin.

Please ensure that you have adequate fire insurance and fire fighting insurance!
