Home Based and Farm Based Businesses

Date:
Home Based and Farm Based Businesses

The proposed Zoning Bylaw distinguishes minor and major home-based businesses and provides separate rules for farm-based businesses. Standards address business scale, employees, customer visits, traffic, outdoor storage, signage, utility demand and effects on neighbours. The intent is to support entrepreneurship while keeping the property’s principal residential or agricultural character. Larger or higher-impact operations may require discretionary approval or a more suitable commercial or industrial location.
