The proposed OCP would direct larger commercial and industrial development toward established areas, suitable hubs and transportation corridors. Near lake communities, it would favour existing business nodes or appropriate off-lake locations where access, servicing and land-use compatibility can be addressed. This approach is intended to support economic development while avoiding scattered high-impact uses and conflicts with residential or environmentally sensitive areas.
