How much growth can Turtle Lake support while protecting water quality, roads, wastewater systems and the lake experience residents value? The proposed Official Community Plan (OCP) would require the RM to consider the current lake study, cumulative development, servicing capacity, recreation pressure and environmental conditions when reviewing future proposals. Depending on the evidence, growth could be staged, redirected, limited or deferred. This is a proposed decision-making framework—not a predetermined stop to development. Council wants to hear whether the approach strikes the right balance.
